This contract, issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs, establishes an agreement for the supply and delivery of road salt and salt/sand mix to the Tomah VAMC in Tomah, Wisconsin, for the 2017-2018 winter season. The award is based on the lowest priced technically acceptable offer. The vendor is required to secure a guaranteed supply of 132 tons of road salt and 102 tons of salt/sand mix, to be delivered upon demand in specific dump truck loads. Because the facility has no storage capacity, the vendor must store the materials at their own facility free of charge and is preferred to be located within a close radius of the delivery site. Key operational requirements include the provision of weight tickets upon delivery and the immediate cleanup of any spills or debris. Road salt must be free of contaminants, or shipments will be halted. Payments are processed via the Electronic Funds Transfer System, and all invoices must be submitted electronically in arrears upon acceptance of items. Contract administration is managed by the Great Lakes Acquisition Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
