The Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI), in partnership with Nova Technologies, is organizing an Industry Day focused on the Objective Soldier Monitoring System (SMS) acquisition. The SMS aims to provide real-time tracking capabilities for soldiers participating in Special Forces land navigation courses. This Industry Day event will offer vendors an opportunity to learn about the acquisition objectives and provide updates following a June 2011 Demonstration Week where 14 commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products were showcased to help refine system requirements. Scheduled for July 21, 2011, at 1:30 PM EST in Orlando, Florida, the event invites interested vendors to attend with up to three representatives and request individual one-on-one sessions the following day to address specific queries. Attendance requires preregistration by July 15, 2011, and participants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. The acquisition will be executed under the SOF RAPTOR II Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract, with Nova Technologies serving as the prime contractor and systems integrator. A subsequent Request for Proposal (RFP) for the SMS solution is anticipated by the end of Fiscal Year 2011. Vendors who did not participate in the initial demonstration are invited to submit product specification documents as part of the response process, all of which will be treated as proprietary. This Industry Day announcement is strictly for informational purposes and does not represent a commitment to contract or reimbursement of costs. It encourages broad industry participation to support the development and selection of an innovative solution to enhance soldier monitoring capabilities.
