NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: The United States Property & Fiscal Office for Maryland intends to negotiate a firm-fixed price contract, on a sole source basis, with Drive Square Inc., 3213 Duke St Ste 656, Alexandria, Virginia 22314-4533 for the purchase of a portable driving simulator. Sole source is based upon the contractor being the only available source that can provide the required simulator. The simulator must be portable in nature and light enough to be carried by one to two persons. The simulator shall be able to utilize actual, stationary vehicles and be able to utilize a wide range of vehicles to include LMTVs and HMMWVs. In the absence of any additional qualified sources, a contract will be awarded under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) which allows for sole source purchase if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source is reasonably available. Interested concerns may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. Solicitation documents are not available. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination on whether to conduct a competitive procurement, based upon any responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
