This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation VA251-14-Q-0264 is issued as a request for quotes (RFQ). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-72B. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) number is 333318 and the business size standard is 1000 employees. Requestors shall state their business size on their proposal. Proposed items must be BRAND NAME OR EQUAL to the items requested below. They must perform to exact specifications of the brand names referenced (MAR COR).Contractor may be asked to prove the performance and characteristics through schematics or demonstration, to be scheduled with the Contracting Officer. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the contracting officer. Requested Items and Specifications: 1. The unit provides the amount of flow that our dialysis machines need (>800 ml/min) at AAMI quality standards. 2. The unit has a heat disinfect function, which the manufacturer recommends as the only disinfection - no chemicals involved. 3. The heats disinfect function of the WRO 300 H can be initiated by dialysis staff. 4. The unit has an operating temperature of 41-86 degrees F, which would greatly help with blending valve issues currently experienced in SICU/MICU as the machine can operate solely on cold water. 5. The unit also has an internal water tank that will help mitigate incoming water pressure fluctuations that are currently an issue in SICU/MICU. 6. The unit's footprint will fit the current RO footprint on the portable dialysis machine carts. Size should be depth (footprint) 15 inches or less, width (footprint) 8 inches or less, height is flexible but ideally less than 26 inches. If we should choose something too big for our carts, we would have to consider replacing the carts as well when we replace the machines. WRO 300 may be the only one that would fit and I have heard good things about it in the VA UM dialysis group discussions.
