The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Grain Inspection Packers and Stockyards Administration intends to award a sole source contract to Speedware Ltd. for maintenance and technical support of the Classic Speedware Development software installed on CPU N4000-100. Because the software is proprietary, Speedware Ltd. is identified as the only provider capable of performing these services. The contract structure consists of a base year with four additional one-year options. This acquisition will be conducted under commercial procedures according to FAR Subpart 12. While the government intends to negotiate a sole source agreement, interested parties were given a five-day window from the posting date of November 14, 2006, to submit an affirmative response. The final decision to compete the contract remains at the sole discretion of the government.
