The U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering (RDEC) Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division, plans to award a sole source purchase order to Advanced Educational Products (AEP) for supplying a comprehensive collection of safety training books. These materials include titles such as Supervisors Safety Manual, Accident Prevention Manual for Business & Industry, OSHA regulations books, and various guides related to occupational health, safety management systems, and technical communication. The total quantities cover numerous essential resources critical for the training schedules at the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center. The decision to use AEP as the sole source is based on historical performance, as they have been the only vendor capable of fulfilling complete orders required to maintain class schedules and timelines. Interested vendors who believe they can meet the requirements have five days from the announcement date to submit written notices with supporting evidence, not exceeding two pages. While responses will be evaluated, the government retains full discretion on whether to open the procurement to competition. If no qualified responses are received, the award will proceed as a firm fixed price purchase order with AEP. This synopsis is not a solicitation, and there is no request for quotes or available solicitation documents. Questions regarding the acquisition can be directed to the designated contracting officer, Mr. Greg Wilson. The announcement expires on February 15, 2009, at 8:00 am.
