The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, is seeking to upgrade its Pyxis system to support the transition from the legacy VISTA electronic health record to the new Cerner system. This project involves procuring additional licenses, delivering, installing software, setting up a test server, and completing necessary system upgrades by September 2022. The Network Contracting Office 10 plans to award this contract on a sole source basis to Care Fusion, citing FAR guidelines that allow solicitation from a single source due to the specific integration requirements with Cerner. The contract falls under NAICS code 519190, with a small business size standard of $30 million. The contract duration is one year from the award date. Although this is a notice of intent rather than a solicitation, interested and capable parties may submit quotations by July 11, 2022, for consideration. However, there is no guarantee of competition, as the government retains discretion over whether to proceed with awarding the contract solely to Care Fusion. Responses must provide clear evidence of the ability to meet the government’s requirements and demonstrate how competition might be beneficial. The primary point of contact for this procurement is Kelly Poole, the Contracting Officer.
