The contract establishes a standing price quote for the supply of 3M EC-847, a liquid, air-curing nitrile rubber adhesive designed for bonding materials such as leather, rubber, plastics, and metal. This medium viscosity adhesive is suitable for brush or flow applications and is commonly used to attach rubber gaskets in air conditioners, as well as in guidance and capsule assemblies for astronautic purposes. The product is to be delivered in 5-ounce quantities, packaged in 3M original tubes—either collapsible metal or plastic—ensuring that the packaging does not chemically or physically affect the adhesive's quality or purity. Tubes must be securely sealed to prevent spillage or leakage during shipping, handling, storage, and redistribution. The contract specifies a shelf life code of 4, meaning the product has a 12-month shelf life, with a requirement that the maximum age at delivery does not exceed two months. This ensures freshness and usability upon receipt. The contract was posted on January 15, 2002, under solicitation number 6FE-N7-7507, and details pertain to ongoing supply conditions through June 30, 2002. The detailed packaging, handling, and time constraints emphasize maintaining product integrity for critical applications, especially in aerospace contexts.
