The purpose for this synopsis is to conduct market research to help identify capable, potential sources and to establish if this requirement can be set-aside for small business or other socio-economic programs.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Alaska VA Medical Center, Pharmacy department, intends to establish a five-year contract for insulated shipping boxes and ice packs to ensure safe and efficient transport of temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals. The estimated period of performance will be 10/01/2026 09/30/2031. Services must include the following:
The supplier shall supply and deliver completely assembled insulated shipping containers (shippers) and packs as specified in the contract agreement. The shippers shall meet applicable standards for quality, safety, and shipping for sensitive items such as pharmaceuticals and vaccines. The shippers shall be light weight, reusable and include foam container and shipping box. The shipper shall maintain temperature range of 2°C to 8°C (35.6°F to 46.4°F) for up to 72 hours and provide consistent cold storage during transit. The supplier shall provide these support services: AVAHS Pharmacy will request shippers and/or ice packs from supplier on as needed basis via supplier s website, telephone, or fax. A confirmation order shall be supplied within 12 hours. All requested boxes and/or ice packs shall be delivered to AVASH within two 36 hours of request, Monday through Friday (excluding Federal Holidays) between 9 am 3 pm Alaska Standard Time. Supplier shall notify AVAHS Pharmacy and Supply Chain Management of any delivery problems or discrepancies within 12 hours from receiving the order.
