This contract modification updates the required color shade of the waterproof, weather-resistant cloth from 34807 to 34087, as shade 34807 is unavailable. The solicitation for this item, which has not yet been issued but will be released after September 19, 2005, pertains to the purchase of 10,476 square yards of green, aromatic hydrocarbon fluid- and oil-resistant cloth measuring 39 inches in width, conforming to Mil-C-20696 specifications. This type II, class 2 fabric corresponds to NSN 8305-00-616-0022, and was last procured on September 9, 2003, at $2.38 per yard for 8,600 square yards. Delivery is to occur at Albany, Georgia, with inspection and acceptance at the destination, and must begin within 120 days after contract award, though earlier delivery is encouraged. The solicitation will be unrestricted and issued as a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 313210. Interested offerors must register to receive notification and access the solicitation documents via the DLA Procurement Gateway starting after September 12, 2005, as paper copies will no longer be provided. Amendments will only be communicated by direct email notification from the Contract Specialist, making it critical for potential bidders to proactively express their intent to offer.
