The U.S. Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division, intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order on a sole source basis to Ready One Industries for 4,761 yards of Nextec’s Glacier fabric in AOR 1 and AOR 2 camouflage patterns. This fabric is essential for producing Naval Special Warfare Protective Combat Uniforms. The procurement is justified under FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1) due to Ready One Industries being the only authorized manufacturer approved by the United States Special Operations Command and Naval Special Warfare to purchase and use these specific camouflage materials. The distribution and use of AOR 1 and AOR 2 patterns are strictly controlled, and Ready One Industries is uniquely authorized to acquire Nextec Glacier material in these patterns. Market research was not conducted since the sale and distribution of these proprietary camouflage patterns are restricted, allowing only authorized companies to supply the materials. There are no feasible actions to remove or overcome competition barriers at this time, although interested parties may express their capability to respond by contacting the contracting office before the specified deadline. The contracting office is located in Natick, Massachusetts, with Nathan Jordan serving as the point of contact for this acquisition. This sole source award supports specialized military requirements while ensuring compliance with regulatory and proprietary constraints.
