The U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center is conducting a market investigation to identify fabric producers capable of providing alternate flame resistant fabrics for the Flame Resistant Army Combat Uniform. The goal is to investigate qualifying materials that meet or exceed current performance standards for tear strength, break strength, and air permeability, specifically adhering to GL/PD 07-12 and various ASTM test methods for mannequin evaluation, vertical flame evaluation, and durability. Required fabric weights are between 6.50oz and 8.0oz for trousers and 5.50oz to 6.50oz for coats, and materials must remain effective after Permethrin treatment. Interested vendors must submit technical data, independent test results, and Material Safety Data Sheets documenting their fabric's composition and performance. Submissions should include company background, business category, and delivery capabilities to help the government determine the competitive landscape for future contracting actions. All respondents must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration database and provide a DUNS number. This notice is for information gathering purposes only and does not constitute a request for quotations or a formal solicitation.
