Chevron U.S.A. Inc. is seeking approval from the California Department of Conservation, Geologic Energy Management Division, to rework five existing wells within the densely developed Coalinga Oil Field in Fresno County. The project involves the Premier F-1, Premier F-2, Premier C-1, Premier C-2, and Premier C-3 wells. All rework operations will be conducted within existing completion zones and will not increase the depth of any well. To support these operations, approximately 300 barrels of reclaimed produced water will be used per well and will be carefully metered. The project is categorized as a forecast under NAICS code 213112 and has been granted a CEQA Notice of Exemption. This exemption is based on the project occurring on existing pads and falling under categorical exemptions for existing facilities, replacement or reconstruction, and minor land alterations. The California Department of Conservation has certified that the project will not result in a significant expansion of use or create adverse environmental impacts.
