95--CMSX 4 SINGLE CRYSTAL SX AND POLYCRYSTALINE EQ SLABS

NASA/GRC has a requirement for 21 Special cut slabs - single crystal, wave springs (preloaders) and coil springs (preloaders). NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from PCC AirFoils LLC., 3860 Union Avenue SE., Minerva Ohio 44657 USA. It is highly critical that the same fabrication methods/procedures be used as that already supplied and in use here at Glenn Research Center. There also must be no deviation from this strategy of a clear and consistent research method to achieve describable and meaningful results. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth and FAR Part 13. The Sole Source is under the authority of FAR Reference 13.106-1(b)1. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 12:00 p.m. local time on Monday Aug 17th, 2015 at. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
