NASA's Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, in collaboration with the Mission to Planet Earth and Space Sciences Enterprises, is seeking high-technology small businesses, including those that are disadvantaged or women-owned, to participate in its Semi-Annual Science Forum. This initiative targets specialized firms involved in advanced technical areas such as spacecraft hardware, sensors, Earth observing satellite technology, remote sensing, communications, engineering, lasers, and data and telecommunications technologies. Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Other Minority Institutions are also encouraged to participate. The selected firms will gain exposure to senior NASA agency officials and prime contractors from the Goddard Space Flight Center and Jet Propulsion Laboratory, providing unique opportunities for subcontracting, teaming, or mentoring in NASA's complex high-tech projects. Interested small firms must submit a concise statement of corporate capabilities focused on the targeted technical areas, with submissions limited to no more than ten pages. Four to five firms will be chosen to present at the Forums, which are hosted twice yearly—once by the Goddard Space Flight Center and once by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The upcoming Forum is scheduled for September 18, 2003, at GSFC, with submissions due by August 15, 2003. Selected participants will be notified within 30 days following the deadline. The program serves as a significant marketing platform to connect innovative small businesses with key NASA decision-makers and contracting personnel who are otherwise difficult to access. For more information and submission details, firms are encouraged to contact NASA representatives designated for this opportunity.

Full Description

In partnership with the NASA's Mission to Planet Earth and Space Sciences Enterprises, the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization seeks to identify High-Tech Small, Disadvantaged, and Women-owned Small Businesses capable of participating in NASA's most complex High-Tech work in designated technical areas that directly relate or support the Enterprises program and mission. Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU's) and Other Minority Institutions (OMI's) are encouraged to participate. These firms will be highlighted as future contractors and subcontractors to the Enterprises Lead Centers - Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), Greenbelt, MD, and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Pasadena, CA, respectively. The Semi-Annual Science Forum will serve as a platform for senior agency officials to become aware of the presence of these firms in critical technical areas. In addition, it will serve as an opportunity for top prime contractors to consider these firms for subcontracting, teaming, or mentoring opportunities. Essentially, these Forums create a "rare high-level marketing opportunity" for small firms. It puts them in front of key management, technical, and procurement personnel descried as "hard to get to". The Forum is held twice annually. It is held once a year by the GSFC, Lead Center for Mission to Planet Earth, and the JPL, Lead Center for Space Science. Advanced Technologies in Targeted Areas: Spacecraft hardware, Sensors, Instrument Technology, Earth Observing Satellite (EOS) Technology, Remote Sensing, Space and Ground Communications, Electrical, Mechanical and Systems Engineering, Lasers, Data and Information Technology, Telecommunications, Earth and Space Science Research. How to apply: All small firms interested in participating in the Forums should submit a brief statement of corporate capabilities that SPECIFICALLY address the targeted areas. Four to five firms will be selected. There is no special format; however, it should contain no more than ten pages total. Please be sure to include a contact name, address, pone, fax and e-mail address. The next Forum will be hosted by GSFC on Thursday September 18, 2003, between 1:00 and 3:30 pm. The deadline for submission of corporate capabilities is Friday, August 15, 2003. Firms selected to make presentations will be notified within 30 days. Please forward corporate capabilities to: Ms. Olivia T. Gunter, Associate Small Business Specialist, NASA/GSFC Mail Code 210, Greenbelt, MD 20771. For further information, please contact Ms. Gunter at (voice) +1 (555) 000-0000, (fax) +1 (555) 000-0000, or email: contact@example.gov NASA OSDBU Home Page: http://www.hq.nasa.gov/office/codek NASA Acquisition Internet Service: http://prod.nais.nasa.gov NASA/GSFC Procurement Home Page: http://genesis.gsfc.nasa.gov/procure.htm For information on the JPL Forum, please contact: Mr. Lamont Hames, Program Manager, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization; 300 E Street, SW Washington, DC, 20546; +1 (555) 000-0000 or 1-800-2NASA95; email: contact@example.gov

Bolstering Underutilized Industry by Leveraging Technology Transfer (BUILTT) pilot program
Solicitation # 10292026-LR-27
The Department of Energy, in partnership with the National Nuclear Security Administration, has announced the Bolstering Underutilized Industry by Leveraging Technology Transfer (BUILTT) pilot program. This initiative, conducted by the Nevada National Security Sites, Y-12 National Security Complex, and Kansas City National Security Campus, aims to assist qualified U.S. small and medium-sized businesses in manufacturing low-volume, high-impact technologies developed by DOE/NNSA Labs, Plants, and Sites. These technologies, which include specialized optical imaging, radiation and chemical sensing systems, precision electrical components, and advanced materials, often have limited commercial markets but are critical for government mission requirements. Under the program, selected businesses may receive a Cost Reduction License (CRL) for a nominal fee, granting them the rights to produce specified technologies for sale to the DOE, NNSA, and other government customers at pre-negotiated prices. Eligibility is limited to U.S.-based SMBs, with preference given to those near participating sites or those with SBA 8(a) or HUBZone designations. Interested parties are evaluated based on their technical and manufacturing capabilities, financial capacity, and ability to meet regulatory and security requirements. Responses must be submitted to the Technology Partnerships and Intellectual Property Office by April 1, 2027, and are categorized under NAICS code 541715.
