The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service Oregon State Office is procuring 60 GE/Druck Precision Pressure Transducers, divided evenly between two pressure ranges: 1 to 100 inch H2O and 0 to 200 inch H2O. These transducers conform to the USDA/NRCS SnoTel Drawings E-A3-8693 Rev D and are essential for maintaining consistent, high-quality data collection across all program sites. The total estimated cost of this purchase is $38,100, with delivery terms FOB Origin. This procurement is being conducted as a sole-source acquisition to ensure compatibility and uniformity with existing equipment, continuing a practice from previous years. The choice to purchase these specific transducers from Druck is driven by the need to keep the sensor network standardized, as the devices currently in use have been thoroughly tested and certified by the USDA Water and Climate Center's Electronics Maintenance Facility. Using the same part number avoids the need for developing new sensor labels and going through extended testing phases, which is necessary when integrating new, unmatched equipment. This continuity is critical to the program, as the USDA/WCC's data processing system is configured specifically for these transducers, enabling efficient and accurate data processing without additional modifications. The point of contact for this contract is the Contracting Officer, Monty A. Shuster.

Full Description

USDA/Natural Resources Conservation Service Oregon State Office is in the process of purchasing 60 Ea GE/Druck Precision Pressure Transducers (part number PMP 317-8693). Half of these transducers will be a Pressure Range of 1 to 100 inch H2O and the other half will be 0 to 200 inch H2O. These Transducers are built to USDA/NRCS SnoTel Drawings E-A3-8693 Rev D. It is estimated that the cost of the procurement will be $38,100.00 FOB Origin. USDA/NRCS Oregon is processing this procurement as a Sole Source under FAR 6.392-1(b). USDA/NRCS Oregon needs to purchase these items from Druck in order to maintain consistency within the network (this is a follow-on procurement from previous years). This type of transducer have been tested and certified by the Electronics Maintenance Facility of the USDA/Water and Climate Center (WCC). We have been using these transducers as the replacement for existing transducers at all sites within the program, (not just the Oregon Staff), and for all new installations for the past 4 years. By purchasing the transducers of the same part number the program is able to keep the consistency needed to collect quality data. It is imperative that the same part be used at all sites. The way the computer system is configure at the USDA/WCC, the data collected by the above mentioned transducer, is already programmed into the - Sensor Labels program. New transducers would require that new labels be developed after a period of testing. This is a time consuming process, that isn't needed when using already established transducers.
