99--RENEWAL OF ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION WITH PROQUESTFOR MEDICAL JOURNALS

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, VISN 6 Centralized Acquisition Service, intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with ProQuest-CSA LLC. This proposed contract action is for the renewal of an annual subscription for ProQuest Health and Medical Complete Journal and the ProQuest Nursing and Allied Health Journal for use by multiple VA Medical Centers in the VISN 6 arena. The VA intends to procure this requirement on a sole source basis in accordance with the statutory authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The proposed period of the contract will be August 1, 2007 through July 31, 2008. NAICS Code 511120 applies to this procurement. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 5 days from the date of the publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement listed. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
