The Army Contracting Command - New Jersey, representing the Program Management Office - Close Combat Systems, is hosting an Industry Day focused on eliciting interest and fostering information exchange regarding a Deep-Range employed Networked Obstacle system. This system is intended to provide an Area Denial capability that restricts enemy maneuverability while allowing friendly forces to operate freely within the contested battlespace. Key technological interests include man-in-the-loop controlled scalable munitions, advanced sensor and sensor fusion systems, secure communication networks, and various supporting technologies such as power sources, geo-locating, delivery mechanisms, and anti-tampering features. The initiative aims to develop innovative solutions with versatility in effects including lethal, non-lethal, and non-persistent assets to counter both mounted and dismounted threats effectively. The Industry Day event is scheduled for March 5, 2015, at the Sheraton Parsippany Hotel in New Jersey, immediately following the National Armaments Consortium General Membership Meeting. Participation is open to all U.S. contractors, although membership in the National Armaments Consortium will be required to respond to a forthcoming Request for Ordinance Technology Initiatives expected to open the pathway for formal proposals. The event will be unclassified and includes opportunities for one-on-one sessions at Picatinny Arsenal the following day for detailed discussions or proprietary briefings. Attendees must preregister with their organizational and individual details by March 4, 2015, with a limit of three representatives per organization. The government emphasizes that no contract awards or payments will result directly from this notice or the Industry Day discussions.

Some areas of interest are munitions, sensors, data management, command & control, and communications. Munition capabilities include networked munitions, non-persistent lethal, non-lethal, and scalable effects, low collateral self destruct, and breaching deterrents. Innovative deployable networked sensor and sensor fusion technologies to facilitate the detection, identification and classification of targets may be considered. Secure short & long range wireless communications concepts and technologies to support command and control of the integrated networked system may be necessary for deep deployed solutions. Additional supporting technologies of interest include but are not limited to improved power sources and power management systems, geo-locating and orienting capabilities, delivery and dispersion mechanisms, distributed fuzing, tamper detection and anti-jamming.
