Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), managed by the University of California for the U.S. Department of Energy, is seeking industrial partners to commercialize a breakthrough high molecular weight polyacrylamides polymer technology. This innovative polymer, developed by LLNL scientists, features a viscosity average molecular weight exceeding 700 kDa, enabling significantly improved performance in capillary electrophoresis compared to existing commercial products. The polymer allows for superior separation capacity, achieving single base resolution of up to 770 bases within 60 minutes, outperforming current alternatives that require longer times and yield lower resolution. Additionally, the polymer is cost-effective to produce and has excellent stability, maintaining its properties for at least one year at elevated temperatures. LLNL is currently patenting this technology and is actively looking for industrial collaborators interested in commercializing the polymer. The laboratory also encourages partnerships for further research and development to enhance the invention and explore additional applications. Interested companies should submit a written statement of interest along with relevant corporate capabilities within 60 days of the announcement. This outreach is not a procurement but an opportunity for collaborative commercialization and development of the polymer technology.

LAWRENCE LIVERMORE NATIONAL LABORATORY SEEKS PARTNERSHIPS WITH INDUSTRY TOCOMMERCIALIZE HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT POLYACRYLAMIDES POLYMER. Announcement: Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), operated by the University of California under contract with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), is seeking one or more industrial partners to commercialize LLNL's High Molecular Weight Polyacrylamides Polymer. Scientists at LLNL invented a novel method to make high molecular weight polyacrylamides polymer solution for capillary electrophoresis and other types of electrophoresis. The polymer has a viscosity average molecular weight (Mv) more than 700 kDa. The high molecular weight of the polymer enables superior separation capacities of capillary electrophoresis than presently available products on the market. For example, using the polymer as separation medium, scientists at LLNL achieved single base resolution up to 770 bases within 60 minutes with a capillary of 50 ?m i.d. and 40 cm effective length of separation of single stranded DNA. Under the same conditions and using presently available product on the market, the separation needs 75 minutes and only can achieve single base resolution up to 625 bases. The new polymer is easy to make with very low cost. In addition, it has a long self-life (at least up to one year, at 70C). LLNL is in the process to patent the invention. At the mean time, LLNL is seeking for industrial partners to commercialize the invention. LLNL is also looking for collaborative research and development to improve the invention and to explore other usages of the invention. Note: THIS IS NOT A PROCUREMENT. Companies interested in commercializing LLNL's High Molecular Weight Polyacrylamides Polymer should provide a written statement of interest and a description of corporate capabilities relevant to commercializing the technology. Written responses should be directed to: Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Industrial Partnerships and Commercialization P.O. Box 808, L-795 Livermore, CA 94551-0808 Attention: FBO02-003-290. Please provide your written statement within sixty (60) days from the date this announcement is published to ensure consideration of your interest in LLNL's High Molecular Weight Polyacrylamides Polymer.
