The Aeronautical Systems Center?s (ASC) 653d Aeronautical Systems Squadron (653 AESS), 516th Aeronautical Systems Wing (516 AESW), Wright-Patterson AFB OH, is submitting a modification to its 30 Aug 2007 Pre-solicitation Notice for the KC-10 Aircraft Modernization Program (AMP). FOR PLANNING PURPOSES The purpose of this notice is to provide industry with information about the status of the KC-10 Aircraft Modernization Program (AMP). On 7 Feb 2008 a decision was made to transfer the KC-10 modification program from Air Force Material Commands' Aeronautical Systems Center (ASC) to the Oklahoma Air Logistics Center. REQUIREMENT The Air Force is in the process of significantly reducing the scope of the near-term modernization needs of the KC-10 fleet for affordability reasons. The program is being renamed the KC-10 CNS/ATM for Communications, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management. All future information on the continuation of this program will come from Oklahoma Air Logistics Center. The contracting office point of contact is Mr. Edward Adams (edward.adams@tinker.af.mil). This pre-solicitation announcement modification is not to be construed as a formal solicitation (Invitation for Bid (IFB) or a Request for Proposal (RFP)). The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notice. This notice is for information and planning purposes only.
