A--Nanotechnology Packaging for MRE Food Fill and Pack

The U.S. Army RDECOM Acquisition Center in Natick, MA plans to award a firm fixed price purchase order to Ameriqual Group LLC of Evansville, IN, to conduct research on nanotechnology packaging for Meal, Ready-To-Eat (MRE) food fill and packing processes. Ameriqual will be responsible for filling and packing pallet loads of MREs using nanocomposite packaging designed to enhance the strength and thermal resistance of the meals. The project includes comparative testing between traditional control meal bags and new nanocomposite bags, which feature improved packaging without side seals, as part of a demonstration program intended to assess the viability of this advanced packaging technology. This contract is being awarded under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and aims to gather data solely to determine whether to pursue a competitive procurement in the future. Interested parties with capabilities relevant to this requirement were invited to indicate their interest by a specified deadline.
