A--Necropsy & Serology Testing for ARF

Intent to Sole Source Contract Award This notice is for informational purposes only. The Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to award a sole source contract for Serology testing, parasitology testing, skin examination, histopathology testing, necropsy and other diagnostic services of 3,300 mice and rats for use in research at the William S Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital, 2500 Overlook Terrace Madison, WI 53705 under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), 6.302-1 to Research Animal Resources, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy. Technical Scope: The Contractor is responsible for all supplies and services required to provide to furnish the necessary Service includes, but is not limited to, VA Staff will deliver animals or tissues to contractor when the need arises (sentinel checking, apparent illness or death). Contractor will report findings to Supervisor by email. Contractor must be able to perform Serology testing, parasitology testing, skin examination, histopathology testing, necropsy and other diagnostic services. In addition, Histopathology testing will be performed if requested by the veterinary pathologist. Additionally, should any experimental animals appear sick or show signs of disease, the veterinary staff may request the animal or samples from the animal be submitted to the lab to diagnosis. Period of Performance: October 1, 2011 - September 30, 2012 This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitations documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored. However, if a firm believes it can meet the requirements it must furnish information about its products and services, as well as references from other customers who are using these products and/or service, to the Contracting Officer within five (5) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements.
