Bechtel BWXT Idaho, LLC (BBWI), the prime contractor for the Department of Energy at the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory, is offering a licensing opportunity for its nuclear material detection technology. Interested industrial partners are invited to submit written expressions of interest within 30 days of the solicitation's publication. Licensing agreements will involve an upfront fee plus royalties based on sales, and this solicitation is specifically for commercializing the technology rather than providing goods or services to BBWI or DOE. Parties interested in pursuing this opportunity should provide details about their company and commercialization plans to the designated contact, Mr. Gary W. Smith. The technology involves a nuclear material detection system that uses an IBM-compatible computer combined with a pulsed photonuclear neutron detector (PPND). This 16-kilogram PPND is designed for detecting neutrons in the energy range from 0.1 keV to 1.0 MeV, which includes many delayed fission neutron emissions. The detector incorporates a specialized preamplifier capable of functioning in intense pulsed photon-flash environments and features shielding to reduce sensitivity to low-energy ambient neutrons. It achieves a total passive detection efficiency of approximately 3 x 10^-4 counts per californium-252 fission neutron at 100 cm, supporting both passive and active neutron detection applications. The detector operates using a compact internal 12-volt power supply to energize its helium-3 tube.

Bechtel BWXT of Idaho Inc., LLC (BBWI), P.O. Box 1625, Idaho Falls, ID 83415-3805 Contact Mr. Gary W. Smith. A potential licensing opportunity exists with BBWI, the prime operating contractor for the Department of Energy (DOE) at the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory (INEEL). BBWI is soliciting a written indication of interest from industrial partners interested in entering into a license agreement for the purpose of commercializing the technology described below. License terms will include an up-front fee and a running royalty based on a percentage of sales. This is not an opportunity to provide goods or services to BBWI or DOE. This solicitation will close to response 30 days after publication. Interested parties should send a description of their company and their plans to commercialize this technology to the following address: Gary W. Smith Sr. Account Executive Technology Transfer and Commercialization Bechtel BWXT Idaho, LLC P. O. Box 1625, MS3805 Idaho Falls, ID 83415-3805 E-mail is contact@example.gov INVENTION SUMMARY: BBWI's nuclear material detection system uses an IBM-compatible computer, associated commercial electronics, and a pulsed photonuclear neutron detector (PPND). The PPND weighs approximately 16 kg and has been designed for detection of 0.1-keV to 1.0-MeV neutrons. The latter range is representative of many delayed fission neutron emissions. A preamplifier, located within the detector, has been specifically designed to operate within intense pulsed, photon-flash environments. Detector shielding design has been chosen to maintain a very low sensitivity to voluminous room-return, low-energy neutrons associated with active interrogation environments. With energy selectivity, total passive detection efficiency is approximately 3 - 10'4 counts per californium-252 (252Cf) source fission neutron at 100 centimeters. With this detection efficiency, PPND performs quite well and supports both passive and active detection applications. Each detector uses a small, internal 12-V power supply to provide the high voltage to the 3He tube.

66--INDICATOR,ATTITUDE, IN REPAIR/MODIFICATION OF
Solicitation # N0038326QBB18
This solicitation, issued by NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Philadelphia, is a Request for Quotations for the repair, overhaul, upgrade, and inspection of 33 Attitude Indicators (NSN 6610-01-101-1927 LC, P/N 622-3374-002). The objective is to return these units to a Ready For Issue condition, ensuring they perform reliably in operational environments. The contract includes an initial induction period of 365 calendar days, which the government may extend by an additional year. Offerors must provide option pricing for a maximum of 135 units over the total contract period. Award will be granted to the offeror with the lowest price technically acceptable quote, with past performance evaluated via the DoD Supplier Performance Risk System. The contractor is responsible for providing all labor, facilities, materials, and tooling, as government-furnished manufacturing aids are not provided.
