The Navy has established a Basic Ordering Agreement with BAE Systems in Nashua, NH, to procure advanced infrared countermeasure capabilities and specialized modeling and simulation for fleet aircraft using the AN/ALE-39 Countermeasures Dispenser System. This effort includes direct support and modifications to existing countermeasure systems. Given the unique and proprietary nature of the technologies involved, orders will be issued on a basis other than full and open competition, as authorized by federal regulations. The BOA is set for a three-year period starting from February 15, 2000, with periodic reviews and synopses conducted by the contracting activity. Individual job orders under the agreement will specify detailed tasks and delivery requirements. In the coming six months, the Navy plans to acquire Hardware-In-The-Loop simulations, analysis, and test support for advanced concept demonstrations related to the Electronic Warfare Advanced Technology Program. Interested responsible parties can inquire about the specific terms and conditions of the BOA, with Rick Colvin at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane designated as the point of contact. The contract supports the research and development of simulation capabilities to enhance the Navy's electronic warfare systems and maintain cutting-edge countermeasure technologies for operational aircraft.
