The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), through its Mission Module Program Office (PMS 420), is seeking information from industry firms capable of supporting the development, integration, and testing of Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) Mission Modules. Following the Mission Package Industry Day held on November 3, 2004, PMS 420 expressed gratitude for the robust industry participation and acknowledged the valuable input received, which has influenced the shaping of industry roles in the spiral development of Mission Packages. The office encourages ongoing dialogue and feedback from industry through January 31, 2005, to refine and enhance collaboration efforts. Communications should be directed to [email hidden], as the previous email used for Industry Day registration is no longer operational. Relevant briefing materials from Industry Day are available on the LCS webpage, and industry participants may request the J-5A document outlining Mission Package-to-Ship Interfaces by providing necessary contact and security details via the specified email. PMS 420 outlined two primary avenues for industry involvement: serving as the Mission Package Integrator (MPI) or acting as a developer introducing new technology solutions. A draft Request for Proposal (RFP) for the MPI role is expected to be released soon, aiming to further define the integrator’s responsibilities and foster additional industry input on the spiral development strategy. The RFP development timeline was shared, targeting an award by the end of 2005. Firms are strongly encouraged to continue submitting technology solutions and feedback both following the Industry Day and as the program progresses, supporting the Navy’s goal of refining and advancing the LCS Mission Package capabilities.
