The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), NAS Patuxent River, MD, on behalf of its international cooperative partner, The Commonwealth of Australia, has awarded a sole source contract modification to Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation (NGSC), San Diego, CA for unfunded option line items to produce and support additional MQ-4C Triton aircraft and related assets. This contract modification established two unfunded option line items for five (5) additional MQ-4C Unmanned Aircraft (UA) and two (2) additional Main Operating Bases (MOB) and related production support, to include but not limited to: The procurement of long-lead material and associated effort; systems engineering; production management; integrated logistics support; and associated technical, administrative, and financial data. This acquisition was procured on a sole-source basis under statutory authority of Title 10, U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, - Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. A determination by the Government not to compete this effort was solely within the discretion of the Government.
