The contract involves the acquisition of a custom-designed vehicle to transport and operate a mobile MRI unit, specifically the Hyperfine SWOOP, for research purposes conducted by Le Centre de recherche. The mobile MRI will be used primarily with pediatric clients, allowing imaging and studies to be conducted directly in familiar environments such as daycares, schools, and community centers. This approach aims to reduce disruption and discomfort for young children by minimizing travel and routine interruptions, thereby enhancing participant recruitment and retention, especially among socio-economically disadvantaged families who are often underrepresented in clinical studies. The requested vehicle must facilitate safe and efficient transport of the mobile MRI to various sites, with features allowing for secure loading and unloading of the equipment. Additionally, it must support operation of the MRI device inside the vehicle itself when site access is restricted. The solicitation is issued by CHU Ste-Justine, a federal organization based in Montréal, with a submission deadline of early February 2026. The contract seeks to improve the accessibility and quality of pediatric imaging research through innovative mobile solutions tailored to the needs of vulnerable populations.
