AI Contract Overview
The Contractor is required to supply all labor, materials, and equipment needed to maintain and perform preventive maintenance on the REVOLVE R4 Upright & Inverted Capability fluorescence microscope, ensuring its continuous operational readiness. This instrument is essential for HAMB researchers who rely on it to detect and capture fluorescent signals from cells, a critical component in experiments involving cell viability assessment, expression of engineered genes, infection efficiency measurements, and the localization and interaction studies of cellular and viral proteins. Many experiments utilize viruses engineered to express fluorescent genes, making this microscope indispensable for analyzing live virus-infected cells. The integrated high-quality camera enables the capture of detailed images for use in record-keeping and publication in scientific journals, supporting the research mission of the laboratory. Full Description
The Contractor shall provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to maintain and provide preventive maintenance for REVOLVE R4 Upright & Inverted Capability fluorescence microscope. This microscope and imager will allow all HAMB researchers to detect and capture fluorescent signals from cells, which is critical for a variety of routinely performed experiments such as assessing cell viability, expression of exogenously expressed genes, infection efficiency, localization of and interactions between cellular and viral proteins etc. We often utilize viruses encoding fluorescent genes, and this is an important part of our work. We need to assess the fluorescence of live-virus-infected cells, and it is thus important to have the equipment in our lab. The integrated camera will enable taking high quality images of the cells, so that they can be used for record-keeping and publications in scientific journals.
