The contract is for the procurement of Acyclovir Tablets, USP 400 mg, in bottles containing 100 tablets each, with a total quantity of three bottles. The medication must have a shelf life of 24 months, with at least 21 months remaining at the time of delivery to the government. Packaging and labeling requirements are strictly defined according to the Department of Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) packaging standards, including the Medical Marking Standard No. 1, and the materials must be appropriately protected to prevent damage during shipment. The contract specifies that labeling must include critical information such as the National Stock Number (NSN), manufacturer, lot number, dates of manufacture and expiration, and contract number. The delivery is set for 20 calendar days to the destination at Fort Lewis, with inspections and acceptance occurring at the destination point. The procurement documentation emphasizes compliance with technical and quality standards as outlined in the DLA Master List, and government identification must be removed from any non-accepted supplies. The contract also mandates that commercial packaging standards are to be followed, aligned with medical acquisition requirements, and reinforces adherence to FDA regulations for this drug item. Communication with the contracting official and product specialists is required for confirmation prior to award, including detailed bidder and manufacturer information.
