AI Contract Overview
This contract involves the procurement of Acyclovir tablets packaged in bottles of 100 tablets each, specifically 800 mg strength. The tablets must be commercially packaged according to detailed Department of Defense (DoD) packaging requirements to ensure protection from damage during shipping and handling. Each unit must be sealed in a suitable container and packed in exterior shipping containers conforming to medical marking standards, which supersede previous military specifications. The packaging standards emphasize safe delivery at the lowest transportation rate to the designated destination, Fort Bragg, with delivery required within 20 days. The contract mandates that the product comply with strict quality and technical requirements as outlined in the DLA Master List of Technical and Quality Requirements, including adherence to shelf-life stipulations, requiring non-extendable 24-month shelf life for this type of item. Mercury or mercury-containing compounds are prohibited unless specifically allowed under certain exceptions. Several manufacturers and national drug codes (NDCs) are identified as acceptable sources for the Acyclovir tablets, including Golden State Medical Supply, Teva Pharmaceuticals, and Glaxo Wellcome. Inspection and acceptance will occur at the destination, with no quantity variance allowed. The solicitation is managed by the Department of Defense Medical Supply Chain and involves federal acquisition procedures for medical supplies under the NAICS code 325412.
