AI Contract Overview

This solicitation, issued by the DLA Weapons Support Fluid Handling Division, is for the procurement of 1,566 carbon steel straight adapters designed to connect a 1/4 inch nominal tube to a 1/8 inch pipe. The items must be manufactured in accordance with MIL-DTL-18866K(1) and the general specification for 37-degree flared and flareless steel hydraulic tube fittings. A chromium-6 free finish is an acceptable protective coating. Because the manufacture of this NSN typically involves special tooling, casting, or forging, the government may not possess the necessary tooling, and contractors are directed to submit a Casting and Forging Assistance Request if further sourcing information is required. The contract is a small business set-aside with a required delivery date of April 28, 2027, and a delivery timeline of 155 days after award. Inspection and acceptance will occur at the destination. Packaging must comply with MIL-STD-2073-1E and MIL-STD-129, with a strict prohibition on the use of mercury or mercury compounds in preservation and packaging. Quality assurance will follow MIL-STD-1916 or ASQ H1331, requiring zero non-conformances for acceptance under MIL-STD-105/ASQ Z1.4. Payment and receiving reports must be processed electronically via the Wide Area WorkFlow system.
