Adoption of Revisions to Water and Wastewater Schedules of Rates and Charges, Capacity Charges, and Other Fees Not Subject to Proposition 218 for FY 2027

On June 9, 2026, the Board of Directors of the East Bay Municipal Utility District adopted revisions to water and wastewater rates, capacity charges, and various other fees for Fiscal Year 2027. These updates include water system and wastewater capacity charges, recreation use fees, Public Records Act fees, and real property use application fees. The primary purpose of these adjustments is to fund district operations, including employee wages and benefits, the procurement of equipment and materials, financial reserve requirements, and capital projects necessary to maintain service within the existing service area. The revised fees are applicable across the EBMUD service area, covering Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, as well as watershed areas in Amador, Calaveras, and San Joaquin Counties. This regulatory action is exempt from CEQA requirements as it pertains to the establishment of rates and fees necessary for district operations.
