AI Contract Overview
This contract, issued as an addendum on February 27, 2024, aims to establish a procurement mechanism for the supply of aggregates and sand to be delivered for stockpile purposes within Minnesota. It is designed to serve State Agencies and CPV Members, allowing them to acquire these materials as needed, with the option for the agencies or members to pick up the materials directly from the contractor’s location. The scope explicitly excludes any delivery services that involve placement or spreading of materials, which would be considered construction activities subject to prevailing wage laws. The solicitation emphasizes that the contract is solely for the procurement of raw materials and not for construction or installation services. The procurement process is managed by the Minnesota Department of Administration/State Procurement, with a response deadline of March 1, 2024. Interested bidders are instructed to submit questions in writing by February 22, 2024, to the designated buyer, Tou Yang, via email. The contract data indicates a NAICS code of 333924, relating to industrial process furnace and oven manufacturing, which aligns with the nature of the materials involved. The contract release is identified as A-239(5), and the procurement process includes provisions for clarifications and updates through addenda, similar to those seen in other related solicitations. The overarching goal is to ensure a streamlined, efficient process for state entities to acquire necessary aggregate and sand materials without engaging in construction activities that would require prevailing wages or additional contractual considerations.
