The Springbank Dam (SR1) is a dry, off-stream flood mitigation facility designed to reduce the impact of major flood events along the Elbow River through the City of Calgary. Classified as an extreme-consequence dry dam, SR1 is owned and operated by Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation (AGI). SR1 is located approximately 15 km west of Calgary in Rocky View County, within Township 24, Ranges 03 and 04, West of the 5th Meridian. SR1 facility includes a major diversion complex on the Elbow River, a 4.3 km-long diversion channel leading to a 3.8 km-long, 29 m-high dam, a Low-Level Outlet Complex, and dedicated Maintenance (Quonset) and Administration buildings. The SR1 Maintenance and Administration buildings require regular janitorial services to provide a healthy, clean, and well-maintained work environment for all staff, visitors and contractors that may be present at any given time. These buildings are located at Rocky View County, 243009 Range Rd 35, Calgary, AB T3Z 2G5.
