This procurement is for the acquisition of one 16x8 airboat to be delivered to the USDA APHIS WS Louisiana District Office in Crowley. The vessel is required for controlling nutria rat and feral swine populations in remote South Louisiana marshes, necessitating a design that can traverse both water and dry ground. Due to the saltwater environment, the boat must be constructed from aluminum or stainless steel to prevent corrosion. The manufacturer must have experience with at least five Marine 6.6 LT engines and must complete the boat within 90 days. Delivery is contingent upon a rigorous testing process, including a one-hour initial run, a safety inspection, and a subsequent three-hour water test followed by a second safety inspection. Quotes must be submitted to Todd K. Bierl by September 11, 2026, and all bidding vendors must be registered in SAM.gov.
