The National Guard Bureau is soliciting industry input for the Air National Guard’s Guaranteed Remediation and Accelerated Solutions Program (GRASP), aimed at expediting site investigation and cleanup efforts with clear endpoints, exploring cost-saving opportunities, and developing a streamlined remediation prototype for broader Department of Defense application. To facilitate this, an Industry Day and Preproposal Conference is scheduled for February 13, 2002, in Clinton, Maryland, providing a forum for government and private sector experts to share insights and engage in panel discussions on technical and programmatic issues related to remediation projects. Participants are required to register online and submit questions or feedback in writing, categorized into technical and contracting issues, with responses to be addressed during the conference. This effort represents a proactive step by the Air National Guard and the Department of Defense to foster collaboration and gather valuable industry perspectives ahead of issuing a formal notice of proposed procurement, which will provide details on contract types, dollar estimates, project locations, and descriptions. The program’s overarching goal is to enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of environmental remediation efforts, supporting military readiness through improved environmental management. The organizing office, located in Arlington, Virginia, will oversee this process, which seeks to leverage expertise from remediation specialists, insurers, legal advisors, and contract managers to create a scalable model for DoD-wide implementation.
