NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE The United States Naval Research Laboratory intends to enter into a sole source commercial order with EMA Design Automation of Rochester NY. With a preference for commercial items, the specifications the end user had in searching for signal integrity software were the following: Simulates EMI/EMC Simulates Power transients Calculates S-parameters, line impedance, and line loss Calculates differential pair impedance, cross-talk and isolation Has integrated 3D full-wave field solver Fully integrates with our current suite of printed circuit board design tools The two features which were unique to the Allegro Sigrity tool were first that it integrates a 3D full-wave solver. Other software packages use 2D wave solvers which do not provide the necessary accuracy in simulations or require purchasing a 3D solving tool from another company. The second feature which is unique to the Allegro Sigrity tool is that it fully integrates with the end user's current suite of PCB design tools. No other software tool provides integration with their current tool set.
