The Outdoor Recreation program requires a tracked over-snow transportation (Alpina Snow Machine with grooming attachments or equal) to support ski hill operations, winter tours, and patron transportation throughout the installation. The system shall provide safe transport of personnel and equipment in snow-covered environments and include a passenger sled capable of carrying up to six adults and three children while allowing space for operational gear. The package shall also include ski trail grooming capability to support preparation and maintenance of the ski hill and recreational trail system. The requirement includes a tracked over-snow utility vehicle, passenger transport sled, safety equipment, lighting systems, engine heating system, enclosed passenger accommodations, and an F-250 groomer with a cross-country ski track setter. Recurring operator training will be incorporated into the Outdoor Recreation program to ensure safe and effective use of the equipment.
The required system shall, at a minimum:
- Operate reliably in interior Alaska winter conditions, including extreme cold temperatures and snow-covered terrain.
