AP Social Studies Curriculum Adoption: AP Human Geography

Mesa Public Schools is soliciting proposals for the adoption of comprehensive core instructional resources for AP Human Geography. The objective is to implement a rigorous, inquiry-based social studies program that aligns with the College Board AP Course and Exam Description, Arizona Social Studies Standards, and the MPS Portrait of a Graduate. Vendors may submit only one program, which must focus on developing disciplinary knowledge, literacy, and critical thinking skills. The district is seeking pricing for both digital-only and combined digital and physical product options for terms of five and seven years. The response deadline is November 10, 2026, with the contract award and purchase order anticipated by the end of March 2027. All products must be delivered F.O.B. destination to the District's Materiel Distribution Center by June 30, 2027. Proposals must be submitted electronically via the OpenGov portal and include an Offer and Acceptance form, W-9, Certificate of Insurance, pricing proposal, and vendor questionnaire. Award decisions will be based on the most advantageous proposal to the District, considering factors such as past experience, brand continuity, and the ability to meet district needs. The contract includes stringent compliance requirements, including E-Verify certification, adherence to the Davis-Bacon and Copeland Anti-Kickback Acts, and strict data privacy compliance with FERPA, COPPA, and Arizona state laws. There is a strong preference for products manufactured in the United States in accordance with the Build America, Buy America Act. Additionally, the district may require a cybersecurity assessment and a Data Privacy Agreement before granting access to student data. The contractor is responsible for a one-year warranty ensuring materials are fit for their intended purpose and of industry-standard quality.
