The item is regulated by the FDA and classified as a critical application item, requiring confirmation through EBS referral by the contracting official. Packaging must comply strictly with DLA Packaging Requirements, utilizing commercial-grade sealed unit containers and exterior shipping containers suitable for safe delivery at the lowest freight rate, marked in accordance with Medical Marking Standard No. 1, which supersedes MIL-STD-129.
