REQUIREMENTS DESCRIPTION APY-1/2 Preamplifier Mixer Assembly Redesign PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION We are conducting market research to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to perform a F3I redesign of the Mixer used on the E-3 Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) radar system. The Mixer is a critical avionics electronic component for the RF Analog Receiver Amplifier of the E-3 APY-1/2 Surveillance Radar System. The APY-1/2 is AWACS exclusive aircraft radar developed by Westinghouse, now Northrop Grumman for determining the location, altitude, course, and speed of large numbers of targets. The Government anticipates this to be a sole source acquisition as Northrop Grumman owns the data required for this effort. The Contractor shall be capable of furnishing all required labor, material, facilities and equipment to accomplish the redesign. Vendors shall be required to deliver at least two (2) operational production exhibits that pass all qualification and integration testing IAW with Northrop Grumman source control drawing 561R864. The Government will furnish facilities and labor for next higher assembly integration and qualification of the two production exhibits. The Contractor shall consider providing long-term Mixer sustainment capability to support the APY-1/2 radar system. The Government requests technical data, drawings, training and equipment from new vendors to initiate organic maintenance or a willingness to form a partnership for redesign to manage, maintain, and update the new Mixer hardware as required. ?
