Arcade Creek Bridge at Watt Ave Scour Repair

The contract involves performing several construction and repair tasks on the Arcade Creek Bridge at Watt Ave to address scour issues. The work includes extending the end diaphragms and return walls at the original abutments down approximately 5 feet to reach a total depth of 8 feet. After these extensions are installed, backfill behind the original abutments will be reconstructed. Additionally, an approach slab drainage system will be installed along with structure approach slabs that have been modified for length, specifically 10 feet at bridge widenings and about 18 feet 9 inches at the original bridge. Slope protection will be reconstructed with slopes ranging from 1.5:1 to as steep as 1:1, and benches at the top of the slope protection will be eliminated. The contract also requires the replacement of pull boxes and electrical conduit associated with street lighting near the southeast corner of the bridge. The scope of concrete placement and slope protection repairs shown in the drawings is not exhaustive, with the final work limits subject to determination by the Engineer based on field observations during construction. Any additional work not described in the proposal items will be compensated separately as additional work. The contract requires a bid bond of 10%.
