This contract involves the procurement of armature rotors for generators, specifically for the F-16 aircraft. The solicitation number has been updated to SPRTA126R0275, with an estimated issue date of May 5, 2026, and a response deadline extended to June 5, 2026. The contract is a firm fixed price type, encompassing deliveries of 20 units in total, split between two line items each requiring 10 units to be delivered to destination DEG005 by December 17, 2026. The armature rotor is specified with detailed physical dimensions, weight, and material (magnesium alloy), and is crucial for producing AC current in the permanent magnet generator (PMG). Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation, utilizing Intertrade as an authorized distributor, is identified as the qualified source under this sole source procurement, with emphasis on continued use of a specific CAGE code for spare material support. The acquisition is justified under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) for sole source procurement due to the specialized nature of the item, and the contract will not apply FAR Part 12 commercial item policies. Electronic procedures govern the solicitation process, with an Ombudsman appointed to address offeror concerns confidentially. UID marking requirements apply, but export controls and qualification requirements do not. The solicitation will be accessible via SAM.gov, with points of contact provided for inquiries.
