Arovista Elementary School Portable Replacement Project

The Brea Olinda Unified School District (District) is proposing to replace and install eight portables and a play area at Arovista Elementary School. In addition, the proposed project would relocate the new portables and play area approximately 200 feet southwest of its current location. The new area would support eight portables, totaling 7,680 square feet. The portables would include one preschool administration building, three preschool classrooms, one computer classroom, one library, and two preschool special education classrooms as well as an outdoor play area with a 600-square-foot shade canopy. The proposed project would not require the removal of any existing trees on site. The proposed project would occur entirely within the campus boundaries and would not increase student capacity or alter permanent buildings on the campus. Project construction is anticipated to extend up to 12 months beginning in winter 2026. The demolition of the existing portables and play area would not occur until the replacement portables and play area are established; therefore, no temporary classrooms would be necessary to accommodate students or faculty during construction.
