Artist's View Deck Project

The Artist's View Deck Project is a construction solicitation by the City of Belvedere, California, to build a 16-foot wide by 10.5-foot deep hillside viewing deck. The scope of work includes site preparation, the removal of the top 8 inches of an existing concrete retaining wall for ADA entry, and the installation of cast-in-place concrete piers, structural steel with marine-grade paint, wood framing, composite decking, and guardrail systems. Additional requirements include the installation of ADA detectable warning surfaces, a painted No Parking zone, and comprehensive erosion and sediment control. The project must be completed within 30 working days and adhere to Caltrans Standard Specifications, California MUTCD, and Belvedere Municipal Code. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder whose proposal falls within the City's budget, which is based on an engineer's estimate of 150,000.00 dollars. Bidders must provide a bid bond of at least 10 percent of the base bid and are required to submit a non-collusion declaration. The successful contractor must provide performance, payment, and maintenance bonds, pay prevailing wages as mandated by the State of California, and maintain a Cal/OSHA compliant Injury and Illness Prevention Program.
