Ashwood Street Corridor Improvements Project

The Ashwood Street Corridor Improvements Project, managed by the County of San Diego Department of Public Works and Department of General Services, involves infrastructure improvements to a 1.3-mile segment of Ashwood Street in the unincorporated community of Lakeside, California. The scope of work is situated between Mapleview Street and approximately 1,000 feet north of the intersection with Willow Road. The primary objectives of the project are to enhance traffic movement and sight distance at various key locations, including the intersections of Ashwood Street with Mapleview Street and Willow Road, as well as at County-owned Cactus Park and El Capitan High School. A critical component of the project includes the granting of easement agreements and authorizations to SDG&E and AT&T. These agreements allow for the installation, replacement, or modification of utility poles based on specific design requirements and ensure that both entities have the necessary approvals for future utility maintenance along the Ashwood Street Corridor, including Willow Road and Wildcat Canyon Road. The project has been processed under the California Environmental Quality Act, with notices of determination confirming that the project will not have a significant environmental effect.
