The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-TEH-66690-R1, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Chris Manteiga. The project is limited to correcting and preventing erosion and scour along the banks of an unnamed ephemeral tributary to Liza Creek, a tributary to Reed’s Creek in Tehama County. High flow events have resulted in undermined trees and exposed roots along the stream in addition to bank erosion which is threatening existing bridge abutments with failure. The project scope of work involves the removal of hazardous trees, repair of eroded banks and scour areas by installing rock slope protection (RSP), replacement of native fill, placement of geotextile filter fabric and/or seeding, and repositioning of existing rock keyed in for stabilization. These activities are required to abate hazards that may cause further damage or block streams, reestablish safe access for cattle, and protect against further degradation of the critical property areas used by the property owner, ranch managers, and guests.
