Background and Purpose
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) regulations require employers to perform ongoing audiometric testing for employees who are exposed to a noise level at or above 85 decibels. The Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest has approximately 300 employees who are, or may be, exposed to 85 decibels or more of noise while performing work.
Technical Requirements / Tasks
The intent of this firm-fixed-price (FFP) service contract is for audiometric testing for up to 300 employees to determine if they are experiencing job-associated loss of hearing. The awardee must have a mobile unit that can test thirty-two (32) Forest Service employees at each testing location. At the time of testing, the awardee must provide hearing training for employees. The awardee must provide hearing test results and reports to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), Michael Kelly, Safety, Health & Wellness Manager.
