The City of Pitt Meadows intends to award a contract to International Water Screens (IWS) for the design and supply of an automated travelling debris screen at the Kennedy Pump Station. This equipment is essential for removing debris and solid materials from the pump station forebays to protect the pump equipment from blockage or damage. The contract value is approximately $1.2 million plus applicable taxes. The decision to proceed without a competitive bidding process is based on maintaining equipment standardization for operational consistency and cost efficiency, IWS’s unique technical expertise, and a compressed timeline that precludes a tender or RFP process without risking project delays. Interested respondents who wish to object to the award decision must submit their objections by 2:00 p.m. local time on June 18, 2026, via email to the procurement office. The primary contact for this procurement is Jessica Cheng, the Contracting Authority at the City of Pitt Meadows. The project underlines the City’s priority in ensuring reliable and timely maintenance of critical infrastructure while leveraging a supplier with specialized capabilities to fulfill specific technical requirements.
