This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this requirement is NIH-OLAO-OD3-RFQ3858699 and this is a RFQ. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-83. This acquisition will be processed as a fixed price requirement and is not a small business set-aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 333314, and the small-business size standard is 500 employees. The National Institutes of Health is in need of purchasing an Axio Observer Z1 for high speed and high resolution tile scanning of plates with fluorescence and brightfield illumination. NIH goal is to identify genes that control the development of various cell types within the mammalian inner ear. A part of this project is to sequence the transcriptomes of single cells isolated from the inner ear in order to characterize cellular heterogeneity. We use microfluidics systems to capture the single cells. These systems have evolved to the point where thousands of single cells can be captured in a single day. Each captured cell must be imaged with a microscope to verify that it is indeed a single cell and help verify its identity. This requires that thousands of images be taken as rapidly as possible. This product - Axio Observer Z1 for high speed and high resolution tile scanning of plates with fluorescence and brightfield illumination is a high acquisition speed microscope that will allow us to rapidly acquire images of single cells as they are captured on the microfluidics platform. This is a fixed-price requirement. The lowest priced quote will be accepted. The contract line items and quantities can be found in the attached document titled - Specifications. All items and quantities are included. The following clauses apply to this acquisition: The provision at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors'Commercial, applies to this acquisition and a statement regarding any addenda to the provision.
